Well, I have tried to use my V3x in attempt to connect to the Internet as well. Once you connect your phone to your PC and lauch the MPT (Motorola Phone Tools), you should see the V3x Skin or Icon in your Desktop. As you may notice, you have different Options there as well such as Sync, Multimedia Center, etc. At the bottom, there is the Internet Icon or the Connect Icon that you can click to use your V3x as a Modem. When I tried it, it said that the New Internet Profile is Active (myGlobe). Just follow the On screen instructions and your phone should dial out. Sadly, I get an Error message saying that my User name and Password is incorrect. I searched the net for answers and I discovered that some use globe for the username and password, which I haven't tried yet. You may want to try this and let me know if it makes a difference. And before I forget, you must have myGlobe Internet to use your V3x as a Modem.

thanks solo,
yup you're right. i used the access credentials "globe/password", and i was able to connect to the Internet via 3G.. ( 230 kbps ),, but this is off course dependent on your current location's signal strength and 3G capability. otherwise, this will force GPRS access @ 28.8kbps only..

Yes, 3G always depends on Signal Strength! Too bad I always need to go out of my room to have a 3g signal! ;D

It's not FREE Teng! ;D And Yes! ~ Using Smart SIM is a lot easier. Php 20 for an Hour is not bad at all.

[purple]Hello Teng! I would like to assist you further on that one, although sadly the only way you would be able to get MPT is to purchase it from a Motorola Service Center or copy it from someone who does... MPT comes in a CD and it should have come with the phone kit you bought... Wala po ba kayong CD na nakita nung binili nyo po 'yung phone nyo? Kung sabagay, Wala ding CD 'yung akin nung L7 pa gamit ko, heheh...[/purple]

Hi All,
I have borrowed the MPT installer from my friend. Its weird that my phone kit did not have one. hehehe
When using a globe sim, an error message pops up that says that I must enable my data connection, etc...
But using a smart sim connects to the internet instantly. I'm having a connection of 28 kbps, way too slow compared to what i have here in the office of 100mbps. But for emergency cases, having an MPT around really helps.

Hi Teng! I tried to connect to the internet using Globe SIM and I get the same error. I even called globe's hotline because I'm thinking it was a Username and Password Error. They told me to send an email to custhelp@globetel.com and ask for retrieval. I looked closely to the error message and figured that it was not a Verification Error but a Connection Error! So I searched the Net for possible answers and here's what I found. To be able to Use your Phone as a Modem to Connect to the Internet, you must have the following: - Globe Prepaid/Postpaid Sim
- MyGlobe Internet Settings
- Should be in a strong 3G Covered area!
I have all that except for the third one - 3G Signal! And that explains why the Error says about GPRS and Data Subscription.
